Community Impact

For 2014, Mindful Youth has set a goal of showing 750 local youth how to better their lives using mindfulness.

Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center

Mindful Youth provides weekly programming to the youth who are currently incarcerated in the Youth Center. Interacting with an average of eight young people per week, Mindful Youth offers experiential mindfulness training with accompanying messages surrounding responsible decision making, empathy, and reduction of impulsivity.


Youth have shown an increased ability to manage emotions, an increase in self-awareness, and an improved capacity for perspective taking.


Mindful Youth continues to provide weekly programming at the Youth Center and once funding is secured, would like to expand programming at this location.

St. Joseph Orphanage

Mindful Youth provided eight weeks of mindfulness training for youth in the residential treatment program. There were also four Mindfulness Workshops conducted for St. Joe’s employees.

Mindful Youth would like to return to St. Joseph Orphanage and continue to assist them in bettering the lives of youth.

YouthBuild of Northern Kentucky

Mindful Youth delivered their full mindfulness curriculum at YouthBuild NKY. Our message was specifically tailored to meet the educational, employment, and developmental needs of the participants.


Youth participants reported an improved ability to manage their thoughts and feelings, while also reporting an increase in their overall quality of life, despite some unique challenges that life presented to them during that time.


YouthBuild NKY has expressed a desire for Mindful Youth to return to assist later participants in achieving success in their lives.

Happen Inc.

Mindful Youth developed unique arts and crafts activities, as well as meditations, that provide an experiential introduction into mindfulness practice for children ages 4-12.


The youth participants showed many smiles and spoke many compliments about their time with Mindful Youth. Their parents reported discussions about mindfulness, as well as mindfulness practice, once they returned home!

Hamilton County ESC Learning Center at North Norwood

Selected students at North Norwood were given the opportunity to participate in the Mindful Youth curriculum and, therefore, move closer to their educational and life goals.




Mindful Youth delivered two, one-hour mindfulness training sessions to the youth from Aiken High School who were participating in the WordUp program at WordPlay.


Youth participants and the tutors reported many great things about the experience.



Starfire Council of Greater Cincinnati

Mindful Youth delivered eight, one-hour mindfulness training sessions to the Starfire staff, as well as, a one-hour training for some of the people they serve.


The Starfire staff spoke many praises about the training they received!
